FAQ
Where do you teach?
We teach all over the OKC Metro Area, but most frequently at our very own private indoor skateboard facility (Edmond), Mathis Brothers Skate Park (Edmond), Blake Baldwin Skate Park (Norman), Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park (downtown OKC), Stars and Stripes Skate Park (Lake Hefner OKC), and Route 66 Skate Park (Yukon). We have also been known to travel around the state for special events!
What ages do you teach?
We teach all ages, but recommend starting with private lessons for ages 7 and under. We will let kids into group lessons under 8 on a case-by-case basis after at least one private lesson. If you’re an adult and considering starting, it’s never too late to learn and no, you are not too old!
What experience do you have to have?
None! We teach all skill levels, including people who have never stepped foot on skateboard.
What is required?
A signed waiver, payment, water, a full sized skateboard and a helmet. We highly recommend pads (especially knee pads) and a snack. If you don’t have your own skateboard/pads/helmet, we will loan you one for free during lessons or camps on a first come first serve basis and would love send you on to your local skate shop to buy your own!
What payment do you take?
We take cash, cards, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and are Epic vendors and can invoice the learning fund.
Do you do private events/parties?
We do! We can go to you, or you can rent our private indoor skatepark for any birthdays or special events!
Do you rent out your facility?
Yes, we would love to rent it out for any special event or birthday party. You must request to rent it out at least one month in advance with a non-refundable deposit. The remaining payment is due the Thursday before the event.
Is there a discount for siblings or families?
Yep! Our siblings/family discount is 30% off. You must contact Sarah at (510) 759-0286 to get the discount.
What other discounts do you offer?
We offer discounted pricing packages when you purchase multiple lessons at once. We have 3-packs of group lessons, 5-packs of private lessons, and we offer memberships to our group lessons. We also offer an unlimited camps option over the summer.
What is your weather policy?
We try to keep a close eye on the weather and will move outdoor lessons to our indoor facility if it’s too rainy, wet, or windy. However, in case of severe weather, we will reschedule for everyone’s safety.
What is your illness policy?
Please work with Sarah to reschedule due to illness. Not only do we want to keep our team and other skaters illness-free, we have 4 small kids at home and our house gets hit hard!
Do you have gift certificates?
Yep! Whether it’s for your charity event or a birthday gift, we can email you a gift certificate.
What do you teach?
We teach safety, skatepark etiquette, foundational skills like pushing and turning, and skills the skaters want to learn like ollies, flip tricks, dropping in, etc. We utilize the skate parks and their individual obstacles to teach more skills, for example bowl and transition skating, vert skating, rails and curbs for grinds, etc. and how to apply skating to the world (i.e. street skating).
Who are you and who is the team?
Coty started it all and has been skating over 20 years. He has been teaching in the OKC area since 2015. His wife Sarah learned at 30 years old after they had their first two kids and has been helping teach since 2019, but has been doing the behind the scenes work since 2015. Coty’s mentee Adam has been helping us out since 2020, and we have since added more friends to our team, including Caylan, Trevor, Beanie, Ian, Claire, and Zoe. We hope to add more friends, mentees, and interns as we grow!
Why should someone do lessons with you?
We offer the most well-rounded approach to skateboarding, teaching all skateboard disciplines (street, park, bowl/transition, and vert) and all ages, genders and levels of experience (including none). We are also a real business and are insured, plus we have our own private skate park just for our lessons, camps, and classes! Our philosophy is based on loving skateboarding and passing that joy onto others. We want people to enjoy themselves, give themselves grace, and encourage others around them. We want people to take ownership over their own skateboarding, stop competing with others and start competing with themselves, make friends to skate with, and be positive and respectful to other skaters. We highly encourage creativity and entrepreneurship and believe they are integral parts of skateboarding, so we incorporate them into our classes and camps, whether its filming a skate video, writing and playing music for their skate part, customizing their skateboards with their own art, keeping a tricks journal/to-do list, building their own quarter pipes or other skateable obstacles, etc. We help guide skaters to find their own path in skateboarding and then offer support to achieve their personal skate goals.
